My Constant Heaven
For the fourth time, I have come back to Cabo and for the third time, I've come back to what has been consistently heavenly, Cabo Azul Resort and Spa. I'm pretty sure I'll be back again and again and maybe again. This place is truly gorgeous, ask anyone who's been here.
It's an easy flight and taxi ride to the resort and once you're there, there really is no need to leave.
Our days are spent by waking up late, getting in a quick workout to prepare for the day's gluttony and then straight to the pool. Often not leaving until we're asked to.
The first thing we always do is walk over to the Mega (now La Commer) grocery store to get our weeks worth of supplies. We have this down to a science. Alcohol, chips, cheese, eggs and more alcohol. Breakfasts are spent in the room, lunch at the swim-up bar and dinners are left up to last-minute decisions.
Taxi's are waiting outside to take us back to the resort for $7.
These rooms take my breath away every time I walk into them.
There was lots of time spent on the balcony admiring the views and sharing meals.
I was loving the beautiful shadows from all the lighting fixtures!
This trip was made even more fun and special because we meet some of Milo's friends at the airport. They were on the same flight, going to the same resort and had the same intentions for the week as we did. PARTY!!!!!!! and maybe get in some reading on the plush poolside beds.
Drake, Lisa, Mike, and Kelsey. Thank you for making our week an absolute blast. It was a pleasure meeting you.
Oh, and Scott really loved catching up with Kimi when she finally got there!
Here was our two o'clock ritual. Carne asada nachos (the best I've ever had!!!) and rum runners.
I am not ashamed to say that the nachos were so good that I ate them 3 afternoons in a row and my husband and I even got into a fight over them, they're just that good.
Monday nights at Cabo Azul is the beach party. For $39 you get all you can eat and drink. The food is mediocre and the drinks can be weak sometimes but it sure is a good time. It's a great way to spend an evening people watching and enjoying dining on the sand with the sound of the waves crashing in the background. If you get a table by the sandy dance floor you're sure to be grinning ear to ear watching the most unlikely people get up and dance. You don't have to be a good dancer, you just have to try hard.

I've been to this beach party 3 times and they always have some interesting entertainment. We had a fire dancer and a hysterical limbo contest. My new friends Mike and Lisa did exceptionally well only to beat out by the crazy limber Ms. Karma.
The one evening we ventured away from the resort was to have dinner at one of the most memorable restaurants I've ever been to. Flora Farms is a beautiful organic farm and restaurant set back in the hills of San Jose Del Cabo. It's a 15-minute taxi ride from Cabo Azul. When the driver started driving up unpaved dirt back roads you suddenly begin to think "Aahhhh wait a minute, where are we going?" And then you crest a hill and there before you is an amazing farm in the middle of nowhere.
Cocktails were at The Farm Bar that sits next to a nicely groomed vegetable garden, most likely where they get the fruits and vegetables for their delicious infused specialty cocktails.
(Prepare to say "ouch" when you pay your bar bill)
They make their own breads, have a wood fire pizza oven, outdoor organic grocery store, raise their own cattle and pigs and give 20-minute garden tours to explain the process of growing food without using pesticides.
They serve family-style fried chicken that was agreed on by everyone that it was the best they had ever had!!!!
All with a live band adding to the already beautiful ambiance.
Our evening view from the balcony may have been even more beautiful than the day view with the bright starry sky.
Another fantastic vacation made even more fun by a great group of new friends and a ridiculously fantastic resort.
