Back again!
And this time with the family. The first time Mike and I came to Cabo Azul Resort and Spa, I told him we would be coming back and we would be bringing everyone we knew. This was stay #4 and the hotel is now better than ever. Weeks before we got here they finally opened the new lobby. It now has that wow factor that makes you squirm in anticipation as the welcome team explains the Monarch Resort Time Share possibilities. It's all I can do to tell them "NO!" over and over again, that we don't want to sit through a timeshare presentation. We just want to get this vacation started! (This is the single negative about this resort). We're all incredibly anxious to begin ambling through the beautiful grounds like Charlie in the Chocolate Factory for the first time and finally pressing that button on the elevator that will take us to our private floor and finally to our villa.
What was so special to me was that I got my sister to get my niece her first passport and become an international traveler. A child after my own heart!
So with my husband, sister, brother in law, my…… I like to call her my older sister Della and my firecracker niece Rebecca, we splurged and rented the Grand Penthouse for our Christmas present to each other.
We shared a 3 bedroom Penthouse.
The villas are perfectly spacious and beautifully decorated.
The new lobby entrance is GORGEOUS!
Elf on a shelf!
Apparently, this is something my sister in laws are doing with their kids and introduced it to my brother in law, Tony. The elf is to be found every morning while hiding in a different spot around the house. I believe he's supposed to be keeping an eye on Rebecca making sure she's being a good girl for Santa and then reports back to the North Pole…… or something like that. I think the report is still out on whether or not she was a good two-year-old! Regardless, It was adorable watching her try to find the elf every morning.
I bought some fantastic bubbles at Target thinking I would be the hero with Rebecca for bringing such an awesome toy for her. It ended up I was obsessed with the giant bubbles it created with the wind gusts on our beach balcony that I could be found most afternoons standing out there making streams of bubbles for the rest of the resort to enjoy.
Or maybe they were annoyed…… I didn't care. 9 am cocktails. Because, vacation.
In addition to the new lobby, there are two new "Twin Adult" pools. Wonderfully heated and apparently underused. Make sure to get a drink from the lonely bartender at the new lobby bar too.
Every Monday night is the beach party. For $45 per person, it's an all you can eat and drink laugh fest. It's mediocre food and weak drinks and an interesting band mix but worth every dollar. The people watching is hilarious, especially during the limbo contest. You couldn't ask for a better location or atmosphere and they have a dramatic fire dancing event that's always a pleaser.
It was our 4th party and I'll do it again! (They may not have these Monday night BBQs anymore)
Back to Flora Farms!
After our first group experience last year we had to share this amazing restaurant with the family. Fried chicken all around! Get yourselves here.
Yes, that would be our balcony.
If anyone has recommendations on a better resort in San Jose Del Cabo, let me know!!!
