Our days were spent exploring the island on a moped that was much too small for two people. Lounging pool side gulping cocktails out of plastic tumblers, snorkeling through the stilts of the overwater bungalows, searching for the perfect poisson cru and scoring other resorts pools deciding which one we would come back to. That is if we ever came back into a large sum of money that didn't need to go towards the bills. So ... nothing really different than any other couple does on their anniversary trips. But it was ours, and we loved it.
We stayed one night at Manava Resort on Tahiti.
The pool gave use a long distance view of our next destination.
We rented a scooter for the day and leisurely putted around the island making tons of scenic stops. As every tourist to Moorea is advised to do, we climbed our way up to the highest point, Belvedere lookout. We were rewarded with awesome views and plenty of laughs while watching people attempt to get the best spot to have their "I was here" picture taken without getting strangers in their picture.
We found the best and cheapest places to score Pission Cru where the little road side shacks where the locals eat. It's that how it always is?
I have made it back at home several times and of course have added a bit of California flare to my recipe by adding avocado and jalapenos.
Here's a simple recipe.
And below is long (5 minute) compilation video of the whole trip.
